Boren Scholar to South Korea, 2012-13

Colby received the prestigious Boren Scholarship that allowed him to spend the entire academic year 2012-13 in South Korea. Colby studied Korean and international business at Hanyang University for five months followed by a 6-month co-op at a Korean based company.

Colby first became interested in South Korea while studying abroad in Daejeon, South Korea. Since transferring to Drexel, Colby has been working at the Office of International Programs and spent a co-op at the Philadelphia World Trade Center as an International Business Development intern. After graduating from Drexel, Colby planned to work in the Department of State’s Trade Policy and Programs division to fulfill the service requirement of the Boren Scholarship.
