MS Biomedical Science ’19
Drexel faculty mentors: Andres Kriete, Amy Throckmorton, Sorin Siegler
Cherelle Connor received her Bachelor’s in neuroscience from Bates College and her Master’s in Biomedical Sciences from Drexel University. Through a DAAD Rise Professional internship, she traveled to Germany in summer 2019 to research developing visualization approaches to reduce motion sickness while navigating solar system virtual environments at the German Aerospace Center (DLR). She also spent time in Switzerland, through a ThinkSwiss Research Scholarship, where she worked on developing a VR “exergame” for wrist rehabilitation in stroke patients at ETH Zurich. She is currently a Research Assistant in the Space Medicine Innovations Laboratory at Dartmouth College. She is interested in the use of emerging technologies for persons living with disabilities. With a fellowship from the American-Scandinavian Foundation, she will travel to Denmark in 2021-22 to collaborate with researchers at Aalborg University to investigate how the sonification of motion capture data can be utilized for novel motor learning in individuals with visual impairments.
