The Institute for Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) provides up to three years of financial support and career experience through internships and co-op work for students who are considering a career in electric power and energy engineering. Students should be working towards a BS in electrical engineering with coursework in power engineering. Awardees are required to take part in some type of career experience in power and energy engineering each year to renew their scholarships.
