Boren Awards provide a unique funding opportunity for U.S. students to study in world regions critical to U.S. interests (including Africa, Asia, Central & Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East). Requires language study as part of the program, plus one-year government service post-award. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, any field of study. Students design their own programs. Campus interview required.
