Info Session on Goldwater Scholarship

October 4, 2011

The Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education program was established by Congress in 1986 to honor Senator Barry M. Goldwater. The purpose of the program is to provide a continuing source of highly qualified American scientists, mathematicians, and engineers by awarding scholarships to top college students who intend to pursue careers in these fields.

This scholarship is thus for highly ambitious and talented STEM students, those who are committed to and show exceptional promised for careers in mathematics, the sciences, or engineering. Goldwater Scholars typically intend to get a PhD in their field, have undergraduate research experience, and often have publications in the works.
