Nyheim Plasma Institute of Drexel University together with the Boson Energy Company BIRD were chosen for the USA-Israel Energy Foundation award. The total funding of two-year is $2,732 218. June 28, 2024 Nyheim Plasma Institute, after decades of R&D, have developed an innovative, superior (with regards to cost, maintenance and energy efficiency) plasma torch called Gliding Arc Plasmatron (GAP). Boson has developed a novel gasification process for the treatment of mixed solid waste streams for the generation of Hydrogen. The aim of the project is to utilize Drexel’s GAP, for an efficient tar cracking apparatus, to enable the production of Hydrogen, using Boson’s process data.
