Directions to the Legacy Center

  • Address: 2900 West Queen Lane, Philadelphia, PA (Drexel University Queen Lane Campus)
  • Phone: 215-991-8340

The Legacy Center Archives of Drexel University College of Medicine is located on Drexel's Queen Lane campus at 2900 West Queen Lane, in the East Falls section of Philly, not in downtown or West Philadelphia. We’re easy to get to by car, train, or bus – see important tips below.

By Car – Driving & Parking

If driving yourself, you can either park for $7 in the Visitor Lot, or free on-street parking is often available.

To get to the $7 Visitor Lot, go through the main driveway-loop gates of the Queen Lane campus, and the Visitor Lot entrance is just beyond the bus shelter, to the right.

Look for free on-street parking in the 2800-3000 (house numbers) stretch of Queen Lane that runs along campus. There are also usually free spots available on the next parallel street over, in the 2800-3000 stretch of Midvale Avenue. Note that free, time-unlimited, on-street parking is *not* necessarily available in the 3000-4000 blocks beyond our campus, nor in the cross-streets that run between Queen Ln and Midvale Ave, so keep a close eye on the parking signs if you park outside the 2800-3000 stretches.

When you arrive at the Queen Lane Campus (which is just one long building), do not use the main entrance of the building under the big clock. Instead, use the entrance of the building that’s at the extreme left end of the building, when looking at the building from the street. Looking at the building with the big clock above the grassy “quad,” walk through the parking lot that extends all along the left wing of the building, then cut across the grass when you get to the end of the building (or if wet grass, go a bit farther and there’s a sidewalk that you can use to backtrack to the building). When you approach our entrance, you’ll see a sign for “Institute for Women's Health and Leadership”. Call our general Archives number at 215-991-8340 and we’ll come let you in.

By Uber/Lyft or Taxi

When you arrive at Queen Lane Campus , Uber/Lyft/etc drivers usually drop people near the main gate with the large blue sign (where you’ll see a bus shelter in the adjacent driveway-loop).

Public transit - SEPTA Regional Rail

Take Chestnut Hill West line to the Queen Lane Station (SEPTA Regional Rail)

From SEPTA's 30th Street Station, Suburban Station, or Jefferson Station, take the Chestnut Hill West Regional Rail line to Queen Lane Station – it’s a 20-25 minute ride. The Legacy Center is less than a 5 minute walk from the Queen Lane Station.
Train schedules can be found here: https://www.septa.org/schedules/

Walking from Queen Lane station

We’re a 5 minute walk from the Queen Lane Station: When you get off the train, walk up the stairs, turn right, then cross Wissahickon Ave at the traffic light.  After crossing Wissahickon Ave, walk a 150 yards up Queen Lane, look for the blue Drexel sign on the left and walk through the “Receiving Gate,” entering Drexel's Queen Lane campus. Walk towards the closest part of the building, then you’ll see a sign for “Institute for Women's Health and Leadership”. Call our general Archives number at 215-991-8340 and we’ll come let you in.

Public Transit - SEPTA Bus

The K Bus goes right past our location, with a stop right at the Drexel Med entrance at Queen Ln & Stokley St. The K bud runs every 10 minutes on weekdays. Other buses get within a 10-15 minute walk of us and Google Maps generally does a pretty good job with this area of the city, bus-wise.
