In Loving Communion: Critical Conversations on Racism, Health, and Healing

Wednesday, November 19, 2025

12:30 PM-1:30 PM

Join the Ubuntu Center on Racism, Global Movements & Population Health Equity and Jackie Jahn, PhD, MPH, assistant professor at Dornsife, for "Medical Neglect in Prisons in the Era of Climate Change."

Despite constitutional protections for adequate healthcare, incarcerated people have long advocated for and struggled to receive dignified medical attention while in prison. This talk will discuss why medical neglect in prisons is a particularly urgent issue in the era of extreme temperatures and climate change, as well as grassroots and legal avenues towards policy change and decarceration.
