The Importance of Data to Advance Maternal and Child Health
Friday, May 15, 2026
8:30 AM-1:00 PM
Throughout this half-day event, we will explore the importance of data in
maternal and child health and how different types of data collection strategies
and research methods are used to advance MCH outcomes.
Discussions will
highlight the importance of large state and national MCH data sets, rich
qualitative MCH data, and data from community-engaged research. We will
describe innovative data collection strategies and examples of how data is used
to inform practice and policy. The symposium will demonstrate how data, in its
various forms, is a valuable resource for researchers, policymakers, advocates,
and families interested in understanding and advancing maternal and child
health.
