MCHSO x NPASS Newborn/Infant Intensive Care Unit Service Event

Thursday, April 24, 2025

6:30 PM-8:30 PM

Undergraduate and graduate students at Drexel University are invited to take part in a meaningful service event hosted by Drexel's National Perinatal Association Student Society (NPASS) and the Maternal and Child Health Student Organization (MCHSO).

At this event, students will assemble knitting kits for parents with infants in the Newborn/Infant Intensive Care Unit (NIICU) at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). In addition to preparing knitting materials, participants will also help construct knitting looms to support the hospital’s NIICU parent support group. Parents in this group knit items for their babies, and our contributions will help make this special bonding activity possible.

Students will also have the opportunity to write Spring-themed encouragement cards for NIICU parents, offering words of support during a challenging time. Additionally, NPASS President Sharon Ettinger will share insights on parents’ experiences in the NIICU.

Pizza, water, and soft drinks will be provided.
