Toward a New Vision of Public Safety, Community Well-Being, and Policing at Drexel
Last summer, at the same time Drexel University formed its Anti-Racism Task Force to evaluate and develop proposals in 11 areas of university life, President Fry also commissioned a team of outside experts at 21CP Solutions, who had worked with other leading universities to evaluate and improve their approaches to public safety, to conduct an in-depth review of the Drexel University Police Department (DUPD).
21CP Solutions has now completed its work, and the University is sharing the full, 98-page report [PDF] with the University community, representing the culmination of many months of work and the critical contributions of approximately 550 individuals, including Drexel and West Philadelphia community members and stakeholders.
For more on the report and the immediate steps Drexel is taking to address 21CP’s recommendations, please read the university message that was released on June 1, 2021.
