Emergency Contact Information
Drexel ELC collects emergency contact information for each student. If there is an emergency, the emergency contact will be notified.
Fire Emergency
- Listen to your instructor. Follow your instructor out of the building.
- Note the location of the exits. Do not use the elevator
- Make sure to leave the building. Do not leave campus.
Shelter-In-Place (Stay in the building)
Shelter-in-place means that you must find a safe place inside. There may have been an accident, weather emergency, or another dangerous situation.
- Follow your instructor and stay together as a class.
- Note the location of the safe areas.
- Basement classrooms are not considered safe during shelter-in-place.
- Do not leave your classroom or the building until your instructor says it is okay.
ELC Building Lockdown (Stay in the building)
Lockdown means that the building is closed, and no one can come in or go out in case of emergency.
- Stay in your classroom.
- Follow your instructor's directions.
Weather Emergencies
Drexel will decide if school is closed.
You can find out if classes are cancelled by:
- Calling Drexel's snow closing number: 215-895-6358
- Checking Drexel's website.
- Checking your Drexel email.
- Checking announcements posted on Blackboard
If you are at the ELC and there is a weather emergency:
- Follow the instructions above.
