Professor of Politics Christian Hunold, PhD, Named Associate Dean for Faculty Advancement
January 27, 2022
Christian Hunold, PhD, professor of politics, has been appointed Associate Dean for Faculty Advancement, effective February 1.
Hunold has served on Drexel’s faculty since 1997. He strives for excellence in both teaching and research, and he is considered an exceptional instructor for all the right reasons: He is organized and fair, and his courses are challenging. He regularly teaches undergraduate courses such as Research Design for Political Science and Animal Politics, and graduate courses such as Environmental Policy.
Hunold has more than two dozen peer-reviewed publications to his credit, and his research into the greening of cities and the return of wildlife is changing how we think about and manage urban wildlife.
In his new role, Hunold will be responsible for leadership and oversight of faculty affairs tasks. He will also manage and review academic space in the College, assessing needs, priorities and allocations; supervise our IT support team; and represent CoAS on the Vice Provost of Faculty Advancement's university-wide committee of associate deans.
Hunold’s prior administrative experience as interim department head of Politics and his commitment to fairness, transparency and equity will serve the College well.
