Mimi Sheller Gives Plenary Lecture in New Orleans

Mimi Sheller, Professor of Sociology and Director of the Center for Mobilities Research and Policy gave the Society & Space Annual Plenary Lecture at the American Association of Geographers Annual Meeting, New Orleans, on 11 April 2018, which was published as M. Sheller, ‘Caribbean Futures in the Offshore Anthropocene: Debt, Disaster, and Duration’, Environment and Planning D: Society and Space, 36: 6 (2018): 971-86. This was followed by an online book forum with contributions by three respondents and a published response: M. Sheller, “Climates of Coloniality and the Coloniality of Climates: A Response,” Society & Space Forum on Mimi Sheller’s “Caribbean Futures”, January 2019.
