Bio:

Nelly Taha worked as a lawyer in Egypt, Cairo. When she moved to Los Angeles, she started her Egyptian-American language and culture exchange and, from there, found her new passion of teaching the Arabic language and culture.

She began her Arabic teaching career in Los Angeles while attending professional development coursework and conferences in Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language (TAFL) across the United States.

While she was working as an Arabic teacher, she addressed issues of the curriculum, materials, and tools for assessment in teaching AFL that demotivated her Arabic learners and that motivated her to obtain master degree in teaching a foreign language from CSULA.

Her research interests Motivation and Curriculum, Technology and Curriculum, and Communicative Functions of Code-Switching. She published her eBook Salaam 2 U for beginners and she is working on publishing her eBook Salaam 2 Arabic for all levels.
