Bio:
Nahyun Kim is an assistant professor in the Department of Communication. She studies strategic communication to investigate 1) the social influence that organizations have on society through their messages and practices and 2) how people cognitively and affectively process such mediated information, especially when moral judgments are embedded within a context. Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals including Public Relations Review, International Journal of Business Communication, and Corporate Communications: An International Journal.
Nahyun earned her Bachelor of Arts in Television & Film (dual major: Business) from Ewha Womans University and Master of Science in Journalism and Communication from Iowa State University. She completed her PhD in Mass Communications (minor: Social Data Analytics) from Penn State University. Before starting graduate school, she worked in the South Korean movie industry for several years specializing in film distribution, exhibition, and integrated marketing.
