Bio:
Derek Farrar joined the College of Arts and Sciences advising team in the summer of 2023 after completing his master’s degree from West Chester University where he served as an athlete mentor. He also served in a similar capacity as both a volunteer and intern at the University of Delaware in the Student Services for Athletes department.
Prior to obtaining his master’s degree Derek spent twenty plus years working for the YMCA in various coaching roles moving to Wilmington, DE in 2013 to become the Director of Competitive Aquatics where he helped guide his student-athletes through the college selection process.
Derek currently serves as an Undergraduate Advisor for Biology majors with an emphasis on STEM. He enjoys building relationships with his students and helping them reach their full potential academically and personally.
