Barbara Osborne, DNP, earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with high honors from Rutgers University and Master of Science in Nursing from Drexel University. Subsequently, she completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Drexel University with scholarly work in contraception counseling and shared decision-making. She has also completed postgraduate course work in colposcopy and ultrasound.
Osborne began her nursing career as a high-risk obstetrical nurse before working as a community-health nurse in outpatient family planning/reproductive health. She is certified as a women’s health/gender-related nurse practitioner and has practiced in both private and publicly funded outpatient health centers. She has served in clinical and leadership roles to increase nurse practitioner centered and led models of care. She also collaborated to develop and present the Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Certification Exam Review and Advance Practice Update with Fitzgerald Health Education Associates
