Kiss Me Kate

3:00 PM-5:00 PM
The Department of Performing Arts at Drexel University is thrilled to present Kiss me Kate, a musical with music and lyrics by Cole Porter, a benefit for the Mike Moss Memorial Fund. A collaboration in the Department of Performing Arts, this production will take place on April 26 and 27 at 3pm in the Mandell Theater, in honor of the late Dr. Mike Moss, former Drexel Concert Band Director. All donations from this event will be contributed to the Mike Moss Memorial Fund.
This collaborative vision will be realized as Kiss me Kate will be presented as a concert reading, with actors carrying scripts, dance and a 20-piece orchestra. Audience members will find themselves immersed in watching actors rehearsing a musical version of Shakespeare’s “Taming of the Shrew,” which is quickly complicated with the actor’s off-stage, personal lives. An uproariously funny comedy, Kiss Me Kate offers witty humor set to Cole Porter’s ingenious score with musical numbers including, “I Hate Men,” “Brush Up Your Shakespeare,” and “So In Love Am I.”
