Candidates are only eligible if nominated by an existing AIMBE Fellow, and nominations are rigorously peer reviewed. Drs. Han and Spiller were nominated, reviewed, and elected by peers and members of the College of Fellows: Dr. Han “for pioneering contributions in musculoskeletal tissue biomechanics, matrix mechanobiology, and the development of nanomechanical tools for biomedical research;” and Dr. Spiller “for pioneering contributions in innate immunity, inflammation, and tissue repair, and for leadership in biomaterial-based immune engineering for regenerative medicine.” Drs. Han and Spiller were inducted into the AIMBE College of Fellows at a formal induction ceremony, held during the AIMBE Annual Event at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel in Arlington, Virginia on March 25, 2024.
