Alumni Impact Endowed Scholarship
Hundreds Of Dragons Have Come Together To Help Civic-minded Students Achieve Their Dreams And Make A Difference In The World.
Thanks to generous donations from alumni and members of the Drexel community, more than $626,800 has been raised to support the Alumni Impact Endowed Scholarship.
The continued support of the Scholarship has allowed the Drexel Alumni Board of Governors to select two new student recipients for 2025.
Kevin Le is a second-year pre-junior in the LeBow College of Business studying finance, business analytics and management information systems. He is on the Dean’s List and some of his many student activities include his roles as a LeBow peer leader, treasurer for the Drexel American Red Cross Club, a Drexel Ascent student chapter mentor and the alumni relations chair for the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity.
According to Le, one of the most impactful volunteer roles he has recently undertaken is with the Crisis Text line, a national organization dedicated to providing support to individuals in crisis. Le has engaged with over 90 individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts, offering them a safe space to share their feelings and access immediate support. “This experience has been both challenging and rewarding, as I have had the opportunity to connect with people during their most vulnerable moments, helping them navigate through their pain and identify coping strategies.”
“By staying actively engaged in mental health advocacy, I hope to contribute to a culture of openness and support both within the Drexel community and beyond.”
After graduation, Le envisions himself working as an investment banking analyst and maintaining his connection to the Drexel community, specifically through Dragon Network, where he hopes to mentor and share his experiences with undergrads.
Le says that being a recipient of the Alumni Impact Endowed Scholarship ‘empowers me to continue striving for excellence and contributing meaningfully to my community.’
The second recipient of the Scholarship, Adachukwu (Ada) Anya, is a Dean’s List sophomore studying software engineering.
Anya says that she wanted to give back to her community by sharing her rich understanding of technology, cybersecurity, coding and more. “This led me to volunteer with RSVP Digital Literacy, a non-profit that aids vulnerable populations by focusing on education and wellness.”
Anya explained that one of the things she does as a volunteer is hosts virtual tech drop-in sessions where she works one-on-one with the elderly to answer their questions, troubleshoot issues they’re having and teach them how to use various forms of technology.
In addition, she is an active volunteer with the Society of Women Engineers Outreach where she guides middle and high school students through engineering projects that support their STEM education.
Anya is very passionate about making STEM accessible to everyone. “After graduation I want to start a company for kids that creates video games with educational and moral lessons,” she says. “I want to collaborate with like-minded Drexel alumni to support kids’ education through game production.”
WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
The previous recipients of the Alumni Impact Endowed Scholarship have graduated and are continuing to make their mark on the world.
Connor Morgado graduated in 2020 with a degree in construction management. He now resides in San Jose where he is a senior construction project manager at Tesla Motors. And Salamata Bah graduated in 2024 with a degree in computer science. She is now a software engineer for Apple Inc. in Cupertino, California.
