A Message from Bernard Greene ’99, ’14, Chair, Drexel Alumni Board of Governors

Dear Drexel Alumni,

Bernard F. Greene IIIIt is a great honor and privilege to serve as chair of the Drexel University Alumni Board of Governors for the next three years, alongside new vice chair Angela Harris ’02. I want to thank our past chair, Corina Lam ’10, for her leadership of the Board over the past three years. Under her leadership, the Board achieved significant milestones, including surpassing our Dragon Network membership goal to over 11,000 and record engagement across Alumni Weekend, 24 Hours of Impact (Day of Giving), and our capital campaign.

In addition, a few long-time board members recently concluded their service. I would like to thank Mare Lucas ’88, Shane Nelson ’16, Aubrey Reichard-Eline ’99, Nick Thompson ’15 and Patrick Williams ’04 for their energy, effort and leadership. Thank you for sharing your time, treasures and talents with our entire alumni community. I also extend a warm welcome and congratulations to our newest members Dustin Almon ’07, Theo Feldman ’19, Carrol Franklyn ’08 and Jamison Langguth ’10. I look forward to working with you all during the next three years and beyond.

While we undoubtedly are entering into a period of change as a society and university, Dragons have always been known for their grit and possessing the ambition to get the job done. Where others see a challenge, we see an opportunity. We will continue to harness those qualities on the Board, and ask that you join us on this journey. There still remains a genuine thirst for community, and we will do our best to meet that need. My colleagues on the Board and I look forward to connecting with many of you through our in-person and virtual programming. We will also continue to highlight opportunities for student and workplace connections throughout the year. We want to hear from you, so please share your thoughts, comments or questions at alumni@drexel.edu

During my term, I hope to partner with you all on a few key initiatives, including:

  1. Increasing engagement with active, lapsed and unengaged alumni through personalized outreach, innovative programs, digital engagement and strategic partnerships that foster lifelong relationships and connections to the alumni community.
  2. Upholding and enhancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives by implementing innovative programs and cultivating relationships that authentically represent the diverse backgrounds and experiences within our community in all engagement endeavors.
  3. Amplifying and sharing alumni success stories to enhance Drexel pride, educate the alumni community about the University’s impact, attract prospective students, support philanthropy and celebrate the alumni community’s global contributions.
  4. Building meaningful student and alumni connections through programming, co-op experiences, mentorship, workplace involvement and digital communication.

I welcome your feedback and support as we move these efforts forward.

Sincerely,

Bernard Greene
