Call for Volunteer Peer Reviewers

December 16, 2019

The Office of Research & Innovation is recruiting faculty to become volunteer Peer Reviewers of both internal and limited submission applications.

With the expanded use of the Drexel University Funding Portal, the process of reviewing proposals is easy and efficient. Reviewers are assigned to read through proposals, then use evaluation criteria to rate and provide feedback on each submission. This is all done virtually through the funding portal.

For each funding opportunity competition, reviewer selection is determined through a needs analysis that assesses the overall pool of applications. We want to ensure reviewers are broadly representative of the applicant pool. Reviewers are selected for competitions based on how their educational background and research experience align with both the specific funding opportunity and the applicant submissions.

We seek a diverse group of faculty with a variety of expertise and with the ability to objectively assess the quality of funding opportunity submissions. Reviewers are held to high standards of writing, and the paramount responsibility of preserving review integrity by bringing to our attention any potential conflicts of interest on assigned applications.

Reviewers should be comfortable reading material in a defined period of time and be capable of providing in-depth individual feedback based on the review criteria.

If you are interested in volunteering as a Peer Reviewer, we invite you to sign up.  Should you have any questions, please email fundingportal@drexel.edu.
