About Sponsored Programs

The Office of Sponsored Programs provides assistance to faculty and staff in obtaining and managing sponsored awards. We are responsible for reviewing and approving proposals for submission to sponsors. We also interpret, negotiate, and accept grants and contracts for sponsored programs (externally-funded activities) that include funding from federal and state agencies, foundations and other public and private sources.

Drexel University requires that all sponsored project proposals be reviewed and approved by the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP).  Proposals are required to have OSP approval prior to submission to any sponsor.  The approval of the Authorized University Official indicates the University’s endorsement of and commitment to the project.

The primary mission of the Office of Sponsored Programs Grants Team is to provide the following core services to Drexel faculty and the research administration community:

  • Review and approve proposals for externally funded sponsored projects

  • Negotiate and accept awards in support of sponsored projects

  • Prepare, negotiate, and issue sponsored research agreements under Drexel sponsored programs

  • Complete award set ups, maintain awards in COUES

  • Serve as liaisons with sponsors for non-financial award management matters such as prior approval requests and non-financial progress reports
