The Drexel Areas of Research Excellence (DARE) initiative will provide resources such that tow or three groups of faculty and students can each spend a year deeply engaged in an interdisciplinary research effort that spans at least three of our schools and colleges. The goals of the initiative are to:

• Identify 2-3 scholarly areas where Drexel can take a leadership position nationally and internationally
• Stimulate the formation of effective multidisciplinary research team
• Facilitate the submission of large, multidisciplinary proposals to governmental agencies, private industry, foundations/non-profits, and/or philanthropic sponsors
• Elevate the visibility of Drexel's unique research foci understanding that some fields traditionally aspire to funded awards and others will seek honorific awards and recognition; and align with The Future is A Place We Make It
