The Balanced Project
The purpose of the Balanced campaign is to give the Drexel community a look at how the Rec Center plays a vital role in giving students a balanced lifestyle, serving as a place on campus that enables students to have a “well-balanced” mind, body, and spirit. The Balanced campaign began as a fun idea to get students, in their field of study attire, inside the Rec Center and have pictures taken, and was a very surface-level type of campaign. But, what started out as an entertaining concept started to snowball into this unique idea that I believe will serve as a roadmap to many who do not use the facility or might not be informed about other students in their majors who use the facility. We realized, once getting to know these students, that every one of them had a different story to tell, a different major, and different goals, but what they all had in common was a love for the Rec Center, and a different reason why they came to the Rec. So, we wanted to find out more. We feel a campaign such as Balanced will allow other students to connect with students that have similar interests, majors, and backgrounds because even though we are all different, we are all Dragons.
The Balanced Project is going to be a multi-part series that will put a spotlight on the wellness and inclusion mission that is in place by Drexel Recreational Athletics. At the Drexel Recreation Center, our mission is to promote healthy, active lifestyles to the Drexel community by fostering a culture committed to engagement, experiential learning and diverse programs and we believe the Balanced Project will assist in our efforts to communicate our values to the Drexel Community.
