Steven Carabello
Sigma Xi Grants-in-Aid of Research (GIAR) Program 2010
Physics PhD Candidate
Steven Carabello, a physics graduate student working with Physics Assistant Professor Dr. Roberto Ramos, was awarded a Sigma Xi Research Society Grant-in-aid for his research proposal entitled "High-resolution studies of superconducting energy gap structure in differential conductance measurements of MgB2-based Josephson Junctions".The Sigma Xi Grant-in-Aid of Research program has a highly competitive application process and only approximately 20% of applicants receive any level of funding. Proceeds of the award funds the purchase of a piece of research equipment that will allow Steven to perform high resolution measurements. Steven also recently successfully passed his oral PhD qualifying exam in physics.
