About Me
I am currently a final year graduate student. I hope to pursue my doctoral studies in the field of autoimmune diseases. I am very excited about my fellowship in China. I will be working in Shanghai Jiao Tong University in Dr. Xiaoren Zhang's lab. Our project goal is to understand the development of medullary thymic epithelial cells. This will lead to deducing the T cell selection process. The long term effects of this work will help explain autoimmune disorders which result because of defects in the selection process.
Pavithra was selected for the NSF East Asia and Pacific Summer Institutes (EAPSI) in 2011.
