Mickey Whitzer
BS Mechanical Engineering '12
During the course of my coursework at Drexel University I have been fortunate to have had two great co-op experiences, as well as the amazing opportunity to study abroad twice. My co-op experiences were with the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NAVSEA), and CDI Aerospace, from which I have broadened my knowledge of the field of engineering. My first study abroad was at the Denmark Technical University (DTU), in Denmark, and the second at Aalto University, in Finland; both opportunities were incredible. I have been truly blessed to have participated the DAAD RISE program, through which I spent a summer at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) researching in robots. Currently, I am studying for my Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering (focusing in robotics) at the University of Pennsylvania. At Penn, I have been so blessed to not only work in an incredible robotics lab, but have been award the National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship.
