Jordan Jobs
BS Information Systems '16
I have been awarded the RISE scholarship from the DAAD German Academic Exchange Service to partake in research at Technical University Dortmund in Dortmund, Germany. I was made aware of this program through the Fellowships Office and I thought I could take a chance and apply since I already wanted to go abroad and to be able to do research abroad would be even more beneficial! Although the program is geared towards more "hard-science" disciplines and my major does not fit the typical RISE Scholar I was still able to find a project that dealt with Information Systems under engineering. I will be working on home- automation and it will have a focus on the user which is what I am interested in. I am very excited to be the first student from Drexel's iSchool to participate in this program and I hope it encourages more students to apply. I also cannot wait to experience the German culture and put my German 101 to the test!
I am a sophomore in the five-year/three co-ops program in the iSchool. I will be taking a leave of absence to participate in this program. I am involved in Greek Life as a member of the Delta Zeta sorority and I am the Panhellenic Council's Technology chair. I am also a member of WISE, the West Indian Student Establishment.
