Joann Wong

Joann is a 4th year Accounting and Finance student. She received the Gilman International Scholarship to study at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology for Summer 2019. Born and raised in Philadelphia, she has not traveled much and looks forward to studying abroad and being exposed to new cultures, especially the street food and performers! Since she was a child, she hoped to stand on the same landmarks and experience the culture that she has seen from watching television. Joann hopes to further the mission of global citizens as she creates a strong bond between herself and Hong Kong’s culture and making new friends from around the world! Joann expresses her gratitude to Lisa Shen and Kelly Weissberger who assisted her in the study abroad and Gilman scholarship applications.
