Jared Langevin

I entered the Drexel Architectural Engineering Ph.D. program in 2009, following the completion of a 5 year professional's degree in Architecture at Carnegie Mellon University. Currently in my second year at Drexel under adviser Dr. Jin Wen, my research interests include occupant behavior uncertainty in buildings, psycho-behavioral determinants of human thermal comfort, and the intersection of passive and mechanical (hybrid) climate conditioning strategies.

From 2009 to 2011, my research was funded by a GAANN Fellowship, which provided excellent opportunities to network with other Drexel researchers and establish a good teaching foundation. This year, I was awarded an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship (on my second try!), which will fund me for the next three years. The NSF Fellowship is a great honor, and promises to afford unparalleled research freedom and networking capabilities on a national level. Given this vote of confidence from the NSF, I am optimistic about the directions my work will take me in the years to come.
