Jared Coyle
I began my graduate work in Electrical Engineering in 2008, fresh out of the undergraduate oven with my B.S. from Drexel's Chemical Engineering Department. Thus, my work crosses many fields - mainly those of conductive organic materials, photonics, liquid crystalline phases, fiber optic communications and solar energy. As a student in the Nanophotonics laboratory under the direction of Dr. Adam Fontecchio, my primary project focuses on the formulation of a material known as solar paint. This material, when poured out onto a surface, self-assembles to become a solar cell. My research path and the fellowships I have received have been dictated by my three primary professional passions: teaching, technology transfer and the intersection of chemistry and light.
