Graduate Fellowships for STEM Diversity (GFSD), formerly the National Physical Science Consortium (NPSC), supports graduate students in STEM disciplines. GFSD is a partnership between federal agencies & laboratories, industry, and higher education institutions. The program places special emphasis on recruiting a diverse applicant pool.
Fellows receive an annual stipend and paid summer internships at federal agencies or companies. Fellowships can be renewed for up to six years.
Applicants must be accepted at a participating GFSD-member university or college and progress through a full-time study program leading to a graduate degree in the physical sciences or related engineering fields. Drexel is a participating university, see program website for the complete list. Applicants may also be nominated directly by an employer: if you have interned, have been employed or are employed by a government agency or laboratory, ask your mentor or research supervisor to nominate you directly for a GFSD fellowship.
