MEM PhD Student Jessica Isaacs Receives Fulbright Post-Doctoral Award

Congratulations to Jessica Isaacs! She received a prestigious Fulbright Post-Doctoral Award to Israel. She will conduct research at Tel Aviv University under Professor Rami Haj-Ali for twenty months.

Jessica will receive her PhD in Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics in 2012 and has been working under Senior Associate Vice Provost for Translational Research Michele Marcolongo, PhD, PE, studying spine biomechanics. Her current research includes spine biomechanics, effect of degeneration and age, and disc herniation. Her doctoral thesis is entitled "Micromechanics of the Annulus Fibrosus: Role of Biomolecules in Mechanical Function." During her tenure at Drexel, Jessica worked as a teaching fellow and was the event coordinator of a non-profit group called Buzzing 4 Change.
