The Lindy Institute for Urban Innovation at Drexel University created the Urban Innovation Fellowship in 2017 to recognize extraordinary emerging Philadelphia leaders tackling the city's most critical issues. Emergency Physician Priya Mammen, trauma specialist Michael O'Bryan, and Parkside CDC Executive Director Chris Spahr were selected and benefited from the mentorship of the late Jeremy Nowak and the the intellectual resources from Drexel’s 15 schools and colleges. We invited documentarian Wren Rene to follow their work and tell the story of how they are challenging convention to engage their communities to change the current narrative and co-create and share innovative practices.
