Benjamin Preis is a Research Fellow at the Nowak Metro Finance Lab. In this role, he leads the lab’s work on national, state, and local housing policy. Ben has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in academic journals, including Urban Studies, Urban Affairs Review, and the Annals of the American Association of Geographers, and his work has been profiled in popular media outlets such as Vox, Governing Magazine, and NPR’s Marketplace. He has previously worked with the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh, the Cambridge Housing Authority, and the Center for Public Studies in Santiago, Chile. Ben holds a master’s degree in City Planning and a PhD in Urban Science and Policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He received a Bachelor of Science from Tufts University in Physics and Peace and Justice Studies.
