Emerging Research
The Center is constantly learning from the experts in its programs about what it will take to end hunger. By listening and following their lead, the Center is expanding its work in a number of key areas. Below is an overview of research the Center is actively engaging in at this time. Trauma, Education and Food Insecurity
Through the Building Wealth and Health Network, the Center is exploring the impact of trauma-informed and healing-centered educational models on food insecurity and other health measures such as depression associated with poverty and individual and community trauma. Within this research, the impact of peer support models is being explored.
Resilience
The Center is also exploring the impact of trauma-informed programming on financial well-being and multidimensional resilience through the work of the Building Wealth and Health Network.
Financial Empowerment
Through theĀ Building Wealth and Health Network, the Center is developing a framework for life-based financial coaching and education that connects with lived experience to build intergenerational wealth and support individual, family, and community health.
Healing-Centered Organizational Development
Through consulting and training, the Center is developing and sharing practices that create spaces that strive to counter the long history of institutional racism and discrimination and a public service system rooted in healing-centered approaches.
