DAAD Research Internships for Science & Engineering (RISE), 2018

BS Custom-Designed Major - Cognitive Neuroscience '19, Honors

Leah is a fourth year Cognitive Neuroscience major in Drexel’s Custom Design Major program. Her interest in cognitive science began with her STAR project in psycholinguistics and has grown throughout her co-ops at Ernst & Young Intuitive Company and Lockheed Martin’s Advanced Technology Labs, where she studied human cognition and behavior to improve human systems. Currently, she is conducting research in Drexel’s AIR Lab with Professor Erin Solovey on neuroadaptive educational systems, while simultaneously conducting independent research with Professor Alison Kenner to understand how brain assessment technologies for education can be researched responsibly to maximize benefits to end users. Leah is currently President of Drexel’s Neuroscience Society and dances with PHILADANCO! D/2, a contemporary dance company located in West Philadelphia.

As a DAAD RISE scholar, Leah will be researching the neural correlates of healthy and pathological decision making in the Cognitive Neuroscience Research Group at the Otto von Guericke University in Magdeburg, Germany. In 2016, Leah studied abroad at University of Bristol in the U.K. and is excited to experience differences in German culture and university life
