NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Honorable Mention, 2019

BS/MS Mechanical Engineering '18, Honors

Devon graduated from Drexel University in 2018 with a B.S. and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering (Summa Cum Laude, Honors).  While he was at Drexel, Devon participated in undergraduate research under Dr. Li-Hsin Han to improve the fabrication process used in the Biopolymer Microfabrication Lab.   For his M.S. Thesis,  Devon worked on improving the performance of carbon-based slurries for electrochemical flow capacitors (EFCs) in the Electrochemical Systems Laboratory under Dr. E. Caglan Kumbur.  Devon is now working toward a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University under Dr. Brian M. Foley.  His current research focuses on nanoscale heat transfer and thermal characterization to better understand and engineer materials for micro- and nano-scale devices.  In his spare time, Devon enjoys rock climbing and route setting at Penn State's climbing wall.
