About The Office of University & Community Partnerships

The ExCITe Center is part of Drexel’s Office of University & Community Partnerships (UCP), which oversees the university’s commitment to civic engagement as a highly engaged anchor institution. Drexel is one of a select few private universities holding prestigious Carnegie Classifications for both Community Engagement and Research activity (R1).
UCP is dedicated to fostering authentic, sustainable, and rewarding relationships between Drexel University and our surrounding community. The office enables students, faculty, and community members and organizations to work together to address local challenges and achieve real-world impact.
The Office of University and Community Partnerships includes:
- The Lindy Center for Civic Engagement, supporting civic learning and action for Drexel students
- The Dornsife Center for Neighborhood Partnerships, providing programs and services for community members
- The ExCITe Center, fostering community-driven research and digital inclusion
- Writers Room, connecting university and community through literary arts co-creation
