Bio:
Cecilia Mondaini joined Drexel in 2019 as a tenure-track Assistant Professor. Prior to this appointment, she held postdoctoral positions at Tulane University (2018-2019), ICERM/Brown (Spring 2017), and Texas A&M University (2015-2017). She received her PhD from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2014.
Cecilia Mondaini’s work focuses on the analysis of models of high-dimensional physical systems described by partial differential equations, either deterministic or stochastic. Specifically, she has experience working on the following topics: long-time statistics of stochastic models, Bayesian inverse problems and Markov Chain Monte Carlo algorithms, data assimilation, statistical solutions of evolution equations, and self-similar singularity of fluids models. She was granted an NSF CAREER Award in 2023.
