Bio:
Carol Mele is Associate Teaching Professor of Philosophy in the Department of English and Philosophy. Areas of expertise are political and moral philosophy with a sub-specialty in the philosophy of American 20th century political philosopher John Rawls. Areas of competence include history of philosophy, biomedical ethics, and critical reasoning. In addition to foundational courses in Critical Reasoning, Ethics, and Biomedical Ethics, courses taught include Kant’s Ethics, Modern Social Contract Theories, Social and Political Philosophy, History of Modern Philosophy, Contemporary Ethical Philosophy, Political Liberalism and Religion, The Philosophy of John Rawls. Carol Mele earned a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Pennsylvania and has been a full-time member of the faculty at Drexel University since 2005.
