Bio:

Ernest Hakanen, PhD, researches music and emotions, history of our discipline, fandom and social grid indicators eg. lists, ratings, ranking, reviews, etc., those things that tell us how we think we fit. Hakenen was a fellow at the Bertalanffy Center for the Study of Scientific Structures in 2017, is a former Annenberg fellow and fellow at the Critical Theory Institute, UC Irvine. He also served on the editorial board of the Journal of Popular Communication and reviewer for several journals.
