Drexel LGBTQIA+ Alumni Network

Mission

The Drexel LGBTQIA+ Alumni Network was formed to celebrate the uniqueness of Drexel University’s LGBTQIA+ experience, to support the work of the University now and in the future and to build lasting ties between LGBTQIA+ alumni, staff, faculty and students, the University and the LGBTQIA+ community. In doing so, we are able to better serve our constituency with an understanding of sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression.

Goals

  • Foster an engaged social community of LGBTQIA+ alumni and their allies through University wide events
  • Build a professional network that can assist in the career development of LGBTQIA+ alumni, current LGBTQIA+ students and their allies
  • Promote educational opportunities and dialogue around critical issues that are important to the LGBTQIA+ community, through collaboration with other LGBTQIA+ networks, alumni, allies and current students, staff and faculty
  • Provide social, professional and educational support for current LGBTQIA+ students and allies

Drexel Commemorates National Transgender Day of Remembrance

National Transgender Day of Remembrance, observed annually on November 20, is a time to honor those who have lost their lives through anti-transgender violence. At Drexel, we use this time to uplift and honor our non-binary and transgender communities by raising Drexel transgender flags on all three of our campuses as a sign of solidarity. We not only use this day to mourn, but to also continue the fight towards a better existence for all members of these communities. Below is our 2020 tribute."
