Participate in Drexel's Research Day 2014

All Westphal students are invited and strongly encouraged to participate in Research Day – the University’s annual celebration of research, innovation, scholarship and creativity. Research Day 2014 will take place at the Daskalakis Athletic Center on Thursday, April 10. Student participants are eligible for cash prizes and special Dean’s Awards given out to outstanding projects.

Abstracts, posters or presentations for Research Day 2014 can be submitted electronically via the Research Day website (click here to visit) and are due no later than midnight on Thursday, March 13. Past Westphal entrees have included video games, films, dance performances, fashion designs, and mobile apps.

Westphal College had impressive representation at last year’s Research Day event, with over 25 students showcasing their projects during the daylong presentation. Digital Media students Melissa Cell, Mike Cossentino, Geena Sundaram, Sonia Havens, and Glenn Bender were the winners in the Creative Arts & Design category. Design & Merchandising students Kristen Chleboski and Jessica Powell took home the top prize in the Business Research category.

The Research Day staff is also looking for judges to fill time slots between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided for all judges.
