Celebrating a Successful Commencement and the Start of Summer Term

June 28, 2017

From the executive director:

The summer term is upon us, and I would like to extend a special thanks to all of those who played a role in a memorable Honors Convocation and Commencement, where we welcomed more than thirty new Goodwin College alumni. From our speakers and advisory council members to our faculty, staff, and — of course — students, all contributed to the success of these important events. In addition, the University-wide Commencement at Citizens Bank Park provided our graduates with a beautiful evening in the ballpark, and the nighttime fireworks were a perfect sendoff as they embark on the next phase of their lives.

If you missed the ceremonies, you can view a stream of both the Goodwin College and University-wide ceremonies.

With Commencement behind us, we have exciting updates for the summer. Feedback from our advisory council is driving improvements to the Goodwin website over the coming months, and we have launched our 3 in 30: Learn at Lunch webinar series. While each webinar closely aligns with one of our Continuing Professional Education courses, there is something to learn for everyone. I hope you take the time to view one, either live or archived on our web page.

As the College continues to grow, be on the lookout for ads promoting Goodwin programs throughout the web and social media. We hope that Goodwin's personal, student-focused programs find a wider audience through these efforts.

Finally, we look forward to welcoming a slate of new students in the fall quarter, whether they are starting their college careers in the First-Year Exploratory Studies program, finishing their bachelor's degree through our Degree Completion programs, joining our initial cohort for the revamped Master of Science in Professional Studies, or learning new skills in our Continuing Professional Education courses.

Until then, I hope that you enjoy the summer, whether you are studying on campus, enrolled in online classes, or taking a well-deserved term off.

Sincerely,
Tim Gilrain
Executive Director, Goodwin College of Professional Studies
