For the first time in many years, Drexel University will celebrate the achievements of all of its graduates in one ceremony at Citizens Bank Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies. This will be a most memorable celebration for our incredible graduates and their guests!

Commencement Speaker: Donna Shalala

Park Opening and Guest Entrances

Citizens Bank Park and the parking lots will open at 8 am on the morning of the Commencement ceremony.

Guests will enter through the Third Base Gate or Left Field Gate - see map [PDF]. Every guest must have a ticket to be admitted to the Park.

Faculty and graduates, should consult Where to Report for reporting instructions.

Parking

Parking lots and the gates to Citizens Bank Park will open at 8 a.m. Free parking will be available in lots R though X, indicated on map [PDF]. Please access parking directions to Citizens Bank Park on their website.

Parking for guests with disabilities is located on the perimeter of each of the parking areas, and Phillies personnel will be on hand to offer assistance. For further information on disability services, such as guest drop-off/pick-up, please consult the Disability Resources section of the Commencement website.

Tailgating is not permitted in any of the parking lots.

Tickets

There will be unlimited general seating in the Park, in addition to the 6 premium tickets that will be available to each graduate. Premium tickets will be available to graduates as they pick up their regalia at the Bookstore. All guests must have a ticket to be admitted to the Park.  Extra general seating tickets can be requested at the “Commencement Information" table in the Creese Student Center from May 27 through June 10. The ceremony will be broadcast on PhanaVision, the Park’s video system of two Jumbotrons on the right and left field sides and monitors throughout the concourses and will also be live-streamed on Drexel’s Commencement website.   

Live-Streaming and Remote Viewing

The ceremony will be live-streamed on Drexel’s Commencement homepage.

Because of the availability of seating in the Park, there will be no remote viewing locations.

Security

The safety and security of graduates and their guests are of the utmost importance to the University and to the Phillies. Consequently, standard security procedures will be in effect at the Park. All guests will pass through metal detectors (or be hand-wanded on request), and bags will be hand-checked by Phillies security personnel.

Please consult Citizens Bank Park's Guest Code of Conduct for those items that can be safely carried into the Park.

Weather

The ceremony will be held rain or shine. Part of Citizens Bank Park is under cover, and the use of umbrellas is permitted.

Vendors

Flowers and special commemorative Drexel gear will be available for purchase inside the Park.

Degrees

All degrees will be conferred at this ceremony.
