Art and Tech Innovator John Maeda to Speak at Drexel Commencement at Citizens Bank Park
Computational design guru John Maeda will address the class of 2017 at Drexel University’s commencement, which will be held on June 13 at 7:30 p.m. Maeda is the global head of Computational Design and Inclusion at Automattic, the parent company of Jetpack, WooCommerce, Longreads, WordPress.com and more.
Last June, Drexel held its first University-wide Commencement ceremony in years, at Citizens Bank Park. The home of the Philadelphia Phillies proved to be a perfect venue to celebrate the accomplishments of our graduates as an entire University community. Thousands of family and friends joined us for this momentous occasion. As we reflect on the success of last year’s commencement, we are pleased to announce that the Class of 2017 will have an equally grand experience.
Once again, we will gather for a University-wide Commencement at Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday evening, June 13, 2017. Under the stadium lights, it will be an honor and privilege to confer Drexel degrees completed during this academic year. In addition to the Tuesday evening ceremony, there will be two days of college- and school-specific ceremonies held over June 12–13.
Ceremonies for the Kline School of Law and the College of Medicine will be held in May as is customary, although all law and medicine graduates also are invited to attend the June 13 ceremony at the ballpark.
This site will be updated with full information, including regalia, tickets, and arrival instructions, as details are finalized in the coming months.
