Longjian Liu, MD, PhD, MSc (LSHTM), FAHA

Longjian Liu’s research interest includes health disparity in urban communities, environmental for cardiometabolic disorders, polypharmacy and healthy ageing study. He has extensive experience working with several large-scale studies. Dr. Liu served as the PI for a pilot study supported by the Urban Health Collaborative to examine the burden of diabetes and its associated cardiovascular risk in the city of Philadelphia. Dr. Liu is a Fellow of the American Heart Association, Fellow of the Japan Society for Promotion of Sciences, and serves as co-Chair of the American Public Health Association Epidemiology Section – Cardiovascular and Diabetes Research Interest Group. Dr. Liu has international collaborative study with China and Japan on environmental and social determinants of health in urban population among Asian populations. Dr. Liu has published over 80 articles in peer-reviewed journals, including the Lancet Healthy Longevity, International J of Epidemiology, International J of Cardiology, American J of Cardiology, Stroke, International J of Stroke, Diabetes Care, Epidemiology, World J of Diabetes etc., cited by the National Lib PubMed and Google Scholar, etc. Dr. Liu teaches EPI 552 (Epidemiology for Public Health Practice), EPI 557 (Cardiovascular Disease Epidemiology), EPI 559 (Pharmacoepidemiology), EPI 571 (Design and Analysis of Epidemiological Study), EPI 580 (Epidemiology in Developing Countries), PBHL310 (Burden of Disease), and serve as advisor for MPH and PhD dissertation research projects.
