Senior Climate and Policy Engagement Manager


Katherine B. "Katy" Indvik, MSc is the Senior Climate and Policy Engagement Manager and a member of the Salud Urbana en América Latina (Urban Health in Latin America, or SALURBAL) Project. As part of SALURBAL, she leads implementation of the project’s policy translation strategy, coordinates the Policy Working Group, and supports research and engagement activities focused on the impacts of climate change on health and health equity in Latin American cities. Katy joined the SALURBAL project in early 2018 through a partnership with the Sustainable Development and Human Settlements Division of the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (UN-ECLAC) in Santiago, Chile. Her previous work in Chile included local climate adaptation planning with municipal governments, as well as contributions to national climate action planning as part of the Center for Climate and Resilience Research, (CR)2. She earned her MSc in Environmental Management and Planning from the University of Chile and her BA in Environmental Studies and Political Science from Vassar College in New York. She speaks fluent Spanish.
